Suzie is a senior studying drama at the university's Tisch School of the Arts, and she is graduating with a creative writing minor as well. As a former thyroid cancer patient and under-goer of radiation herself, she has been motivated to engage more with the medical community as well as share her experience to spread awareness around the physical and mental difficulties endured by many cancer patients. A page to connect and communicate with peers also encountering radiation for cancer treatment would've delighted her during the hard and often isolating days of treatment. Alyssa is currently a senior at Steinhardt majoring in media, culture, and communication and minoring in business studies. While she is not pursuing it professionally, the medical field has always intrigued Alyssa, and she is interested in studying how mass media influence the public’s perception of health care. She has experienced close family members win and lose the battle against cancer, seeing the effects of intense radiation therapy along the way. She’s excited to work with Suzie to provide a resource for young cancer patients going through difficult treatment for the first time.
